CUMNOCK WOMAN ACCUSED OF SEVERE ASSAULT ON EX-BOYFRIEND
A Cumnock woman is accused of assaulting her ex-boyfriend to severe injury after pushing him down a flight of stairs.Courtney Gibson, aged 26, pleaded not guilty to charges of threatening or abusive behaviour and serious assault during a court hearing last week.
Court papers describe that she caused fear and alarm, shouted and swore at the complainant on May 1 last year at John Weir Avenue.
It is alleged that she followed the man repeatedly, banged on a door, and threw a glass bottle at the door, smashing it.
The Crown states she assaulted the victim by headbutting him and seizing him by the body.
It is claimed that Gibson pushed the man, causing him to fall downstairs, and then straddled him and punched him repeatedly on the head, resulting in severe injury, permanent disfigurement, and impairment.
Both charges of assault and threatening behaviour are said to be aggravated by involving abuse of a partner or ex-partner.
The defendant, from Dalgleish Avenue, will face trial later in the year, with bail continued.
