SEX OFFENDER BREACHES COURT ORDER BY BEING LEFT ALONE WITH CHILDREN UNDER 16 IN CUMNOCK
A sex offender who previously attacked a 13-year-old girl in Cumnock has faced legal consequences after breaching court orders by being left alone with three children under 16.Connor Templeton, now aged 27, was placed under a five-year sexual offences prevention order in 2021 following a sexual assault on the girl.
Recently, he returned to court to be punished for violating the strict rules of his order and was warned that any further breaches could result in imprisonment.
He was found with three children under 16 during an unannounced police visit to his home in Broom Crescent, Ochiltree, on March 13.
The children belonged to his former partner, though the couple was no longer together.
During the visit, police observed the children and took Templeton into custody.
He was subsequently fined £200 plus a £20 victim surcharge, reduced from £300 because he pleaded guilty.
Templeton had previously received a two-year community payback order and was on the sex offenders register for five years, with restrictions including no contact with anyone under 16 except his own child, and wearing a tag for six months.
His past offenses include an assault on a 13-year-old girl in January 2020, where he made sexual remarks, then touched her body inside her clothing.
The victim's sister commended her courage and condemning Templeton, calling him a "vile, arrogant, sick, twisted individual" with no remorse.
Templeton has also admitted to shouting, swearing, and acting aggressively towards police in a wooded area in Keir Hardie Hill last year, where he made threatening gestures and struggled with officers while under bail.
He has a history of previous bad behavior and breaching court orders, with this latest incident exacerbating his legal issues.
