CLYDEBANK SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR REPEATED COMMENTS ON RAIL PLATFORM
A sex offender named Hugh Nolan, aged 41, who was already registered as a sex offender, approached a woman on a rail platform on April 29 this year and made inappropriate comments, including asking, "Can I see your f*nny?".
The incident occurred around 11.30pm at Westerton rail station.
Nolan's comments were overheard by the woman's partner, who challenged him.
Police attended shortly after.
Nolan pleaded guilty to intentionally making sexual remarks to a woman and doing so repeatedly, with the aim of humiliating, distressing, or alarming her.
He was previously on the sex offenders register for seven years since March 2019.
Nolan was brought from custody with the aid of two crutches into the dock for his hearing.
The sheriff sentenced him to eight months in jail, backdated to April 30, and placed him on the sex offenders register for 10 years starting June 4.
