NELSON MAN CAUGHT USING BANNED PRIVATE WEB BROWSER DURING POLICE COMPLIANCE VISIT
A man who admitted making indecent images of children was cautioned by police and made subject to an interim sexual harm prevention order. When officers carried out a compliance visit, Hamza Hussain was found to be using a private browser on his mobile phone which was banned by the order.
Hussain, 22, of Victoria Street, Nelson, pleaded guilty to breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with 10 days rehabilitation activity requirement and 80 days unpaid work.
He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 victim surcharge.
Nicola Mills, prosecuting, said the use of a private browser was the defendant's attempt to mask his internet use, and 'The order imposed by the police specifically prohibits the use of private browsers,' she said.
'We can only speculate on what his purpose was for using a private browser.'
