GARY ANDERSON FROM DUNFERMLINE AND EAST WEMYSS SENT BACK TO PRISON FOR SEX OFFENSES
Gary Anderson, a man with ties to Dunfermline and East Wemyss, has been remanded back into custody after he was found to have sent explicit images to a woman, despite having been released early from prison.Anderson, aged 35 and residing on Rolland Avenue in East Wemyss, appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court to face charges related to his recent conduct.
According to court records, Anderson admitted that on March 7th of the previous year, he engaged in inappropriate online communication with a woman at an address in Dunfermline.
During this interaction, he sent her a message containing a photograph of her buttocks, which had been provided to him by her former partner.
In addition to this, Anderson also sent her a separate image of his own genitals, an act that has drawn significant legal scrutiny.
The court was informed that Anderson believed his actions would be perceived differently by the recipient.
He told a social worker that he thought the woman would be “flattered” by receiving the explicit images, a statement that court officials and the presiding sheriff, Charles Macnair, found utterly unbelievable.
Sheriff Macnair remarked that Anderson’s attitude “beggars belief,” highlighting the seriousness of his misguided perception.
Defense lawyer David McLaughlin acknowledged Anderson’s lack of understanding regarding the impact of his actions.
He explained that Anderson “doesn’t get it” and cannot comprehend why the woman would not want to receive such images.
McLaughlin described Anderson’s behavior as a “misguided attempt” to re-establish contact and “put himself about” after serving time in prison, suggesting that Anderson was trying to impress or attract the woman.
As a result of his actions, Sheriff Macnair sentenced Anderson to serve 190 days of his previous sentence, which he was already serving.
Additionally, Anderson was ordered to serve a further six months for these latest offenses.
He remains subject to sex offenders’ registration requirements, emphasizing the ongoing legal restrictions placed upon him due to his past and recent conduct.
