BLACKWOOD STALKER JAILED AFTER BECOMING OBSESSED BY WOMAN
A stalker has been jailed after he became obsessed with a woman.
Daniel Prosser, 22, from Blackwood, kept hounding his victim despite a restraining order banning him from contacting her, prosecutor Abdallah Barakat said.
He kept turning up outside her home, threw stones at her car, chased her and asked: “Can we talk?
Can’t we be friends?” His victim said she was so distraught that she wanted to leave the area to escape him and has installed security cameras outside her home.
The defendant, of Llwyn On Road, Oakdale, admitted being in breach of his restraining order multiple times in August.
In mitigation, Newport Crown Court was asked by Prosser’s barrister Alex Granville to consider his young age, “immaturity,” and remorse.
Judge Shomon Khan told Prosser that his offending was serious, and the only appropriate sentence was immediate custody.
Prosser was jailed for 22 months.
Gwent Police have refused to provide a mugshot.
