RUGBY MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING VULNERABLE WOMAN
Convicted Rugby rapist and drug dealer Colin Jones from Rugby was jailed for sexually abusing a woman after she fell asleep at her home following a night of drinking.The incident occurred when Jones, aware of her vulnerability and her previous suicide attempt, sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious.
The victim, who was intoxicated, was woken up by Jones during the assault and then shouted at him to leave.
The court heard that Jones had previously been jailed in 1985 for rape at the age of 20, and later in 2010 and 2015 for drug offences.
He initially denied the sexual assault but changed his plea to guilty on the day of his trial.
He received a sentence of 21 months in prison, a ten-year sex offender registration requirement, and a restraining order preventing contact with the victim.
The judge highlighted the impact of his actions on the victim's life and noted Jones’s history of violent and drug-related crimes.
