Ptaszynski assaulted his former partner at her residence during a drunken outburst, injuring her with a kitchen knife and tossing an iron toward her.
During the confrontation in Rugby, he issued threats to kill his ex-partner, and when he retrieved a knife from the kitchen, he struck her on the head twice, resulting in blood streaming down her face.
Upon his arrest, Ptaszynski claimed he was simply cutting bread and that he had waved the knife while the victim approached it, causing her to be cut.
Despite this defense, he admitted guilt to causing actual bodily harm through assault at Warwick Crown Court and was sentenced to 28 months in prison.
