NELSON WOMAN SMASHED EX-PARTNER'S WINDOW IN DRUNK RAGE
A woman smashed a window at her ex-partner's home in a drunken rage.Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard the incident had caused the victim and his family considerable distress.
Clare Clark, 44, of Swinden Hall Road, Nelson, pleaded guilty to criminal damage.
She was made subject to a community order for 12 months with a six-month alcohol treatment requirement and a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
She was made subject to a restraining order for 12 months, which prohibits any contact with her ex-partner or attending his address in Nelson.
She was also ordered to pay £250 compensation.
District Judge Alexandra Preston said Clark had a history of domestic violence against the same victim.
"You have once again gone round and caused damage to his property in a way that has caused upset to the whole family," said District Judge Preston.
"It is made worse by the fact you were drunk when you committed this offence.
You clearly have a big problem with alcohol." Glen Smith, mitigating, said the primary issue in her life was alcohol.
"She would benefit from the support of the probation service," said Mr Smith.
