TEACHER DISQUALIFIED FOR ALLOWING PUPILS TO WATCH GRAPHIC PORNOGRAPHIC CARTOON
A teacher named Claire Thompson was permanently disqualified from teaching after allowing her pupils at Queen Anne High School in Dunfermline to watch a graphic cartoon on a classroom smart board.
The cartoon depicted Shrek engaging in sexual acts with an orphan and included scenes of violence, murder, and rape involving care home children.
This incident occurred in autumn 2016 when pupils requested her to display the YouTube video.
Witnesses reported seeing her observe and laugh at the content.
The disciplinary hearing, held by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), revealed that the video contained inappropriate, sexual, and paedophilic material, which Thompson permitted in her presence over several weeks.
The GTCS emphasized that Thompson was aware of the content's nature and did not offer a clear apology or demonstrate insight.
She failed to attend the hearing, preventing the panel from assessing her level of remorse or understanding.
Consequently, the panel disqualified her from re-registering for a minimum of two years, effectively ending her teaching career.
