DUNFERMLINE MAN CONVICTED OF DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND CHOKING EX-PARTNER
A woman endured a frightening experience when she was attacked by her partner, Christopher Day, in Dunfermline.Following a trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, Day, who resides on James Street, was found guilty of assaulting his then partner on March 19 of the previous year at his home.
The assault involved punching her on the head, grabbing her by the throat to restrict her breathing, and kicking her on the body, all of which caused her injury.
The victim, 49 years old from Kirkcaldy, stated that Day was her partner at that time and that she had been at his residence on the night of the incident.
She reported that they had been drinking together and that Day was in a bad mood, which led him to start shouting.
She left the living room for the bedroom, only to be followed by Day, who punched her in the eye and then seized her by the throat.
She described feeling a lump forming and being unable to breathe as he continued to assault her.
Day then dragged her to the top of the bed by the throat and later put her outside the house.
Sheriff Allan Findlay found Day guilty, but sentencing was deferred for reports until June 19.
