DUNFERMLINE TEEN GIVEN LAST CHANCE TO AVOID PRISON FOR ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR

A Dunfermline teenager has been given “one final chance” to avoid a custodial sentence.

Cameron Christie, 19, of Victoria Terrace, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court from custody.

He had been put on a court order with unpaid work for offences committed last year involving his ex-partner but has breached it twice.

He previously admitted that on July 23 and August 24 he engaged in an abusive course of behaviour towards his former partner.

On July 23 he took her mobile phone without her permission and refused to return it.

On August 24 he repeatedly prevented her from leaving, shouting and swearing.

Christie was originally sentenced to a community payback order with 120 hours of unpaid work and 18 months of supervision.

The court was told only 36 hours have been done and another 20 hours had been added for the first breach.

Sheriff Garry Sutherland warned Christie he would be given “one final chance”.

He allowed the order to continue and added another 20 hours of unpaid work.
