HAWICK MAN CONVICTED AT JEDBURGH FOR DOMESTIC CHARGES
A HAWICK man involved in a series of incidents with his partner over a 13-month period has been placed on supervision for the next 12 months at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.Twenty-five-year-old Brandon Monk was also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work as an alternative to custody with a non-harassment order preventing him from having any contact with the woman also imposed.
India MacLean, prosecuting, narrated the incidents which happened during the couple’s 18-month relationship which included him pushing the woman over causing her to fall against a radiator at her home in Jedburgh on the night of April 1 last year.
In May this year, the couple were having an argument over money when Monk grabbed hold of her resulting in her struggling to breathe and then pushed her to the ground and kicked her on the body.
Monk pleaded guilty to a domestic-related charge of engaging in a course of conduct which was abusive to a partner or ex-partner to her injury.
