ANDREW STEELE FROM DUNFERMLINE SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN KIRKCALDY
A man from Dunfermline, Andrew Steele, aged 49, has been handed down a substantial prison sentence after admitting to a series of heinous sexual offenses involving young girls.Steele, who formerly resided on William Street in Dunfermline, voluntarily attended Kirkcaldy Police Station in December 2014, where he confessed to police officers about his disturbing past of abusing and raping young girls over a span of several years.
During his police interview, Steele revealed that his criminal acts began when the victims were as young as seven years old.
One girl was subjected to abuse from the age of seven, and Steele later raped her during her teenage years.
Additionally, he admitted to molesting a second girl starting from when she was just eight years old.
These offenses took place over a lengthy period, from 1996 to 2005, marking nearly a decade of predatory behavior that caused profound harm to the victims.
The court heard that Steele’s confessions came after he had undergone hospital treatment for alcohol withdrawal.
During this period, he claimed to be hallucinating, asserting that his mother was up in the sky telling him to confess.
Initially, Steele attempted to deny the allegations following his confession, but he later expressed feelings of shame and guilt, indicating some recognition of the gravity of his actions.
