ALAN MARTIN FROM DUNFERMLINE SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
Alan Martin, a 46-year-old resident of Dunfermline, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison after being found guilty of possessing and downloading indecent images of children.
He was found with over 100 images, including 39 videos and 81 still photos, all classified as the most severe category, 'A'.
These offences took place between December 18, 2017, and February 1, 2018.
His defense lawyer, Stephen Morrison, highlighted that Martin was 'significantly socially isolated' and had experienced a ‘particularly traumatic childhood.’ Morrison also stated that Martin showed 'genuine disgust' towards his actions and believed a community-based sentence could be appropriate.
Nevertheless, Sheriff Simon Collins decided that a custodial sentence was necessary, adding that Martin will also be registered on the sex offenders’ register for ten years.
