LONDON MAN JAILED FOR AT LEAST 26 YEARS FOR BRUTAL DOMESTIC MURDER

A 29-year-old man named Zakaria Mohamed has been sentenced to at least 26 years behind bars for the murder of his girlfriend, Amina Adan.

The court heard that Mohamed stabbed Amina 57 times using three knives along with shards of glass from a broken mirror.

It was reported that Mohamed was on probation at the time and had committed two prior assaults against Amina.

Despite requesting access to a domestic abuse program, he had broken community orders and deferred sentences, which led to a delay in sentencing.

The judge characterized the attack as a 'savage, brutal, sustained, and premeditated' act in which Mohamed demonstrated clear intent to kill.

Mohamed’s past included a history of domestic violence, and he showed no remorse, refusing to participate in police interviews.

His background includes arriving in the UK in 2002 with a forged Dutch passport, being refused asylum, and later being granted indefinite leave to remain in 2007 under an amnesty.

He had also pleaded guilty to battery and violating court orders in recent months.

The court emphasized his controlling and oppressive tendencies, and that Amina was frightened of him.

Mohamed was convicted of murder at the Old Bailey and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 26 years before parole can be considered.
