MOTHER 'THREW HER NEWBORN OUT WINDOW OF THIRD-FLOOR FLAT AS FATHER WAS IN KITCHEN MAKING BABY FORMULA', COURT HEARS
Baby Mariam plunged from a sash window in her family's third-floor flat in Westminster, central London, on Saturday.Baby Mariam died after falling about 10 metres, or 32 feet, from the upstairs window.
Her mother Zahira Byjaouane, 43, was charged with her murder but was unable to attend the hearing.
The prosecutor outlined how the baby's father had called 999 and tried to reach her before calling emergency services.
The baby died in hospital at 9am from a fractured skull.
She was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and later charged with her murder.
The case is scheduled for a plea hearing on June 3 and a provisional trial from February 15, 2027.
The woman was remanded into custody.
