POOLE WOMAN JAILED FOR ROLE IN HISTORIC SEX ABUSE
A woman who observed two girls performing an indecent act on her then-husband has received an 18-month prison sentence.Bournemouth Crown Court was informed that these offences took place in the 1970s, at a time when Carol Comben, aged 61 and residing on Bell Heather Close in Poole, was married to William Loftus.
The jury determined that Comben saw the acts being carried out on Loftus and did not intervene.
The court was also told that Loftus, age 59, had previously been sentenced to 12 years in prison for rape, with a further two-year sentence to run concurrently for two separate charges of gross indecency involving a minor.
Judge Harvey Clark imposed an 18-month sentence on Comben for her involvement in the offences and an additional six months for a separate assault case.
These prison sentences are to be served at the same time.
