THUG BEAT GIRLFRIEND UNCONSCIOUS IN 'BRUTAL' ATTACK

A man named Brandon Fisher, aged 25, caused severe injuries to his girlfriend, including fracturing her eye socket, after subjecting her to a violent assault.

During the incident, Fisher attacked the woman at her residence, physically and verbally abusing her, and also prevented her from calling for help by pulling back her fingers when she attempted to contact authorities.

Prosecutor Gary Venturi reported at Bournemouth Crown Court that on November 1, 2023, Fisher repeatedly locked his car when the woman tried to retrieve an item, prompting her to throw the keys in frustration.

Fisher responded by kicking her forcefully in the groin and striking her directly on the nose, which rendered her unconscious.

When she regained consciousness, he struck her again in the mouth.

The couple’s relationship persisted despite these events, an unfortunately common occurrence in domestic violence scenarios, according to Judge Susan Evans KC.

In February, Mr Venturi explained that Fisher's verbal abuse led the woman to tell him he was no longer welcome at her home.

Nonetheless, on the evening of February 26, Fisher, intoxicated and shirtless, appeared at her house, behaved threateningly, and followed her upstairs.

Once there, he physically attacked her from behind with approximately 15 blows, although Fisher contested this number.

As she attempted to call the police, Fisher bent her fingers backward to prevent her from dialing.

The assault resulted in a fractured eye socket and a black eye; the woman later expressed feeling that she was close to dying.

In a victim impact statement, she shared that the incident had a profound and lasting effect on her and her family.

She revealed that she entered the relationship vulnerable after losing her previous partner and escaping an abusive relationship, perceiving Fisher as a protector at the time.

Since the attack, she has experienced hair loss and continues to have a sunken eye socket, which has affected her trust in others and made her fearful of future abuse.

Defense lawyer Richard Tutt argued that both parties contributed to the unhealthy relationship, attributing some issues to Fisher's long working hours and absence.

He also noted that Fisher is remorseful and remorse has grown since incarceration, which he described as a sobering experience for his client.

Judge Evans described the assault as “brutal” and highlighted the victim’s vulnerability due to the physical and emotional power imbalance.

Fisher, of Shore Avenue in Upton, received a sentence of two years and two months in prison for causing actual bodily harm and wounding without intent.

He was also subjected to a restraining order mandating him to stay at least 200 meters away from the woman’s residence.

After sentencing, the victim shared images of her injuries publicly in hopes of preventing similar incidents in the future.
