YORKSHIRE MAN FACES LIFE SENTENCE AFTER BROTHER-ENDING STABBING
William Campbell's recent incident has drawn widespread attention.The event occurred during a heated dispute over a dog, which his mother described as a clash of personalities.
William, who lives on Allen Court in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, attacked his brother Samuel with a knife, stabbing him in the chest.
Samuel died on June 18 due to his injuries.
Court evidence revealed that William, who was recently diagnosed with autism, confessed to the police that he stabbed his brother out of rage, saying, "I stabbed him out of rage" and expressing regret with the words, "I'm sorry." Bodycam footage from North East detectives documented William’s arrest at his mother’s residence, where Samuel was also injured in the attack.
Emergency medical efforts to save Samuel were unsuccessful.
William Campbell was convicted of murder and faces a life imprisonment.
The sentencing is scheduled for January 5, at which point the judge will determine the minimum period William must serve before being eligible for parole.
