MAN SENTENCED TO 8 MONTHS AFTER ATTACKING HIS GIRLFRIEND
Aaron Ebanks appeared to be 'like a man possessed' as he attacked his girlfriend following complaints about her unclean house.During the assault, he wielded a fork and threw punches, resulting in the woman sustaining injuries such as two black eyes, bruising on her arms, and a swollen lip.
The court was informed that tensions escalated when Ebanks visited her residence in Jarrow and began yelling at her about her disorderly home.
It was noted that the fork briefly made contact with her face, though it did not cause any harm to the 38-year-old at that time, during the incident in September 2018, as presented at Newcastle Crown Court.
The victim’s dog attempted to step in during the initial phase of violence, but Ebanks responded by punching her in the face and arms while holding the fork.
A trial at South Tyneside Magistrates Court resulted in Ebanks, of Otto Terrace, Sunderland, being convicted of assault despite denying the charges.
He received a sentence of eight months in prison for his actions.
