FIFE CHEF AVOIDS JAIL AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON THREE WOMEN
A Fife takeaway chef, Wenhua Zhuang, who was described as "naturally tactile," has narrowly avoided imprisonment after admitting to sexually assaulting three young women who worked alongside him.
Zhuang, known by the nickname "Monkey," was sentenced at Dunfermline Sheriff Court following his guilty pleas to groping the women.
The assaults occurred at the Peking House takeaway in Leslie, with the first victim targeted between November 1, 2015, and January 31, 2016, where he repeatedly touched her body, tried to kiss her, and offered money for sex.
He also admitted to touching another victim between August 1, 2016, and August 9, 2017, at the same restaurant, which he no longer works at, and a third victim between August 2 and 10.
The misconduct came to light after one mother reported Zhuang to the police.
During court proceedings, Zhuang showed no emotion.
His defense argued he was a "genuine first-time offender" and "naturally tactile," emphasizing that most of the inappropriate touching was over clothing and that there was no penetration involved.
Sheriff Simon Collins QC sentenced him to a community payback order with 225 hours of unpaid work within nine months, a 12-month supervision requirement, placement on the sex offenders register for 12 months, and a ban from contacting his victims.
Additionally, Zhuang was ordered to pay each victim £500 in compensation within 12 months.
