MACCLESFIELD WOMAN GUILTY OF STALKING EX-BOYFRIEND WITH GPS TRACKER AND MAIL DIVERSION
At Warrington Magistrates' Court, Veronica Jackson, 44 years old from Chelford Road in Henbury, was convicted of stalking and delaying postal dispatches.She admitted to theft-related charges concerning the removal of mail.
The court proceedings revealed that Jackson and her ex-partner had been together since 2010, with a daughter born in 2012, before they separated eight years later.
The ex-partner reported that Jackson secretly attached a GPS tracking device to his car, redirected his mail to her address, and sent threatening messages.
She also made an anonymous phone call to his employer, falsely alleging a police investigation into his activities for fraud, and sought information about his employment, even though he had informed the Child Support Agency that he was unemployed at times.
During her campaign of harassment, she accessed private letters from his landlord, using what she found against him.
The victim described feeling intimidated, anxious, and harassed by her actions, which included coating his car in flour, rerouting his mail, and claiming she was a single mother trying to ensure she received proper child support payments.
Judge Robin Bradshaw noted her behavior was excessive and amounted to stalking, despite her claims that she aimed to secure benefits for her and their child.
Jackson is due to be sentenced later in July.
Her misconduct involved installing a GPS device on her ex's vehicle, tampering with his postal items, probing into his work situation, and contacting his employer with false claims.
These actions resulted in her conviction for stalking and delaying mail, with sentencing scheduled for late July.
