PAEDOPHILE IN MACCLESFIELD SPARED JAIL AFTER POSSESSING OVER 1,000 CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A convicted offender caught with disturbing child abuse images has been given a suspended sentence after expressing complete revulsion for her actions.Lucy Dean, a transgender woman as outlined by Chester Crown Court, had downloaded over 1,000 images of child pornography onto her Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 over a span of two years.
Cheshire Police’s online child abuse investigation team detained her at her Macclesfield residence in June last year after intelligence indicated that her email and IP addresses had been used to upload inappropriate images of minors.
A forensic analysis revealed Dean utilized encryption tools and the dark web to access the illicit material, which included 224 videos and 306 images classified as category A—depicting children in severe distress being sexually assaulted, some involving infants.
An additional 173 images, including 53 videos, fell into category B, while 525 images, including six prohibited images of children (none actually children), were in category C.
The case was considered particularly serious due to the young ages of some victims depicted.
Although she faced a prison term of up to three years for possession and production of indecent images, she was ultimately sentenced to 16 months, suspended for two years.
Dean is required to complete 200 hours of unpaid community work, register as a sex offender for a decade, and adhere to a ten-year sexual harm prevention order.
She also sought private counselling, showed remorse, and cooperated with authorities.
Her device was seized during her arrest at her home.
The judge noted the gravity of these crimes and pointed out the ongoing risk they pose, which could result in further legal action or stricter restrictions.
