EASTLEIGH MAN AVOIDS JAIL AFTER CHILD ABUSE IMAGES FOUND
A man has been barred from working with children after hundreds of indecent images were found on his phone.
Thomas King, 30, of Longmead Avenue, Eastleigh, appeared at Southampton Crown Court on January 27 to be sentenced after admitting to possession of extreme pornographic material and three of possessing indecent images of children.
The offences relate to a Huawei phone in Eastleigh on September 19, 2021, that contained 177 category A indecent images, 170 category B and 79 category C.
There were also four images portraying explicitly and realistically, people performing sexual activity with animals.
Judge Gary Lucie handed King a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
He must complete 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 150 hours of unpaid work.
The Huawei phone is to be seized, and King is barred from working with children.
He must pay a surcharge of £154 and register with the police for the next seven years.
