MAN JAILED AFTER GROOMING GIRL HE MET ON ROBLOX
A man who groomed a 14-year-old girl after meeting her on the online gaming platform Roblox has been jailed.Carlo Tritta, now 19, repeatedly messaged the teenager and encouraged her to send sexually explicit images of herself.
Det Supt Rod Kenny, from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, said the victim, from Greater Manchester, "thought she was in a loving relationship but it was founded in coercion, control and abuse".
Tritta, who admitted making indecent images of a child, sexual communications with a child and causing a child aged 13-15 to watch a sexual act, has been jailed for 28 months.
He also admitted two counts of intimidating a witness and criminal damage.
Passing sentence at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, Judge Kieran Rankin said: "It was clear to you very early on that she was under 16.
Your behaviour has had a significant negative effect on [the girl] and her family." Tritta's abuse came to light after the girl's mother noticed a message on her daughter's phone in August 2025.
Tritta, from Eastleigh, Hampshire, and the girl first met while playing a game on Roblox 11 months earlier.
Roblox is one of the world's largest games platforms, with about 40 million user-generated games and experiences.
He was arrested before being released on police bail with strict conditions not to contact the girl or visit her home, but he ignored those orders and twice traveled 200 miles from Hampshire to her address, broke the property’s doorbell camera, and let himself inside.
He also sent her two cards, asked her not to support the prosecution, and falsely reported her family to social services.
During his police interview, Tritta admitted he now knew his actions were illegal due to her age.
Her mother said her daughter was just a child when targeted and now lives in fear, attending therapy.
A CPS spokeswoman noted Tritta preyed on the young girl and caused fear and anxiety, highlighting his troubling behavior, including breaching bail and damaging property.
