NOTTINGHAM POLICE SERGEANT RESIGNS AFTER BOMBARDING EX WITH 120 TEXTS
A Nottinghamshire police sergeant has resigned after using her work phone to bombard her ex-partner with 120 texts following a relationship breakdown.Former Detective Sergeant Talissa Northedge used the force issue device to contact him for six months despite being blocked from his personal phone and told to leave him alone.
She was found to have sent unpleasant and abusive messages and attempted to make several calls until April 23, continuing contact despite being warned not to.
On May 7, she was issued a formal notice but persisted.
She admitted to all allegations and, as part of her sanction, is barred from policing for life.
The gross misconduct hearing at Nottinghamshire Police headquarters described her conduct as "serious and persistent," involving harassment.
