STEVE CARR'S BRUTAL ATTACK ON NUNEATON DOG MAX REVEALED
In a disturbing incident that shocked the community of Nuneaton, Steven Carr, a resident of Edinburgh Road, was convicted for a cruel act against a defenseless animal. The incident took place on Friday, July 10, 2020, when Carr was seen assaulting a Patterdale terrier named Max.
According to court records, Carr, born on November 22, 1987, picked up Max by his collar and proceeded to punch the dog three times in the face and body.
Witnesses reported that the attack was both unprovoked and cowardly, highlighting the severity of the cruelty inflicted upon the innocent animal.
Despite denying the charge of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, Carr was found guilty after a trial.
The court's decision was based on the evidence presented, which clearly demonstrated the brutality of his actions.
In addition to the animal cruelty charge, Carr admitted to being drunk and disorderly in a public place during the incident.
As a result of the court proceedings, magistrates ordered that Max be taken away from Carr’s ownership, recognizing the need to protect the animal from further harm.
The court sentenced Carr to 18 weeks in prison and imposed a victim surcharge of £128.
Furthermore, a deprivation order was issued for Max, although no ban was placed on Carr owning animals in the future.
This case has once again brought to light the importance of animal welfare laws and the need for strict enforcement to prevent such acts of cruelty in communities like Nuneaton.
