STEPHEN WALKER BRANDISHED CROWBAR IN MUSSELBURGH INCIDENT
A MAN who acted in an aggressive manner towards his partner while carrying a crowbar has been ordered to attend appointments with a domestic abuse organisation.Stephen Walker shouted and swore at the woman before he began to throw her clothing out of window at a property in the Goose Green area of Musselburgh.
During the incident on October 17 last year, Walker was heard to utter threats of violence; he also brandished the crowbar and challenged members of the public to fight with him.
The police were alerted to the incident and 35-year-old Walker was arrested and charged.
He admitted the offence during a hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month and was back in the dock for sentencing last week.
Sheriff Wendy Sheehan sentenced the offender to a community payback order where he will be placed under the supervision of the social work department for the next 24 months.
The sheriff also said that he must attend sessions with the Caledonian Men’s Programme for the same length of time.
The sheriff decided not to impose a non-harassment order after hearing the views of the complainant.
