MAN BEHIND BARS FOR ASSAULT AND RAPE AT EDINBURGH MUSIC FESTIVAL
A man who attacked and raped a teenage girl at the Fly dance music festival in Edinburgh on September 16, 2023, is behind bars.

James Leckie grabbed the victim by the hair, struggled, chased her, and assaulted her, leaving her in "fight or flight mode," she told the High Court.
The teenager, 16 at the time, had been drinking and was with friends when she was attacked.
He removed her lower clothing and molested her.
Leckie, 27, of Ambassador Court, Musselburgh, initially denied assault and rape but was found guilty by a jury.
He was also convicted of threatening or abusive behavior, shouting, swearing, and making homophobic remarks to police.
The court heard that he told the girl he was 18, though she was 16.
Leckie was remanded in custody, placed on the sex offenders register, and will be sentenced next month.
