RALLY DRIVING OFFICIAL JAILED FOR 7 YEARS AT LINCOLN CROWN COURT FOR HISTORIC SEXUAL OFFENCES IN LINCOLNSHIRE
A rally driving official who committed historic sex offences against a teenage girl has been jailed for seven years at Lincoln Crown Court.Simon Slade, 65, was sentenced by Judge James House KC after being convicted of two serious sexual offences and one charge of indecent assault.
The prosecution stated that Slade groomed and manipulated the teenage victim into sexual activity, orchestrating situations that led to sexual encounters.
Slade ceased his offending only when his partner at the time learned of his actions and asked him to stop.
More than two decades later, the survivor disclosed what had happened and how she was manipulated into sexual activity.
Initially, Slade denied any sexual activity, but evidence found at his home, including photographs and letters from the time, proved his abusive behavior.
Now residing at Cherry Tree Drive, Yeovil, Slade appeared at Boston Magistrates Court last year regarding these offences from the late 1990s.
Two offences occurred in Lincolnshire, which was why the case was sent to Lincoln Crown Court.
He was sentenced to four years for indecent assault and seven years for each of the other offences, to be served concurrently.
Alison O'Shea from the Crown Prosecution Service described Slade as an abusive predator who deliberately targeted a young teenager to satisfy his perverted desires, noting the evidence was "a sickening display of conquest and superiority." She praised the survivor for coming forward and emphasized Slade's failure to take responsibility, diminishing his story's credibility, and highlighting that he has now faced the consequences for his actions over 20 years ago.
