WESTON MAN DENIES RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES
A man from Weston has been cleared of charges after a jury found him not guilty of two sexual offenses involving a 15-year-old girl.Ricky Scott, aged 40 and residing on Pentelow Way, faced allegations of assault by penetration and oral rape, which purportedly took place at a residence around 2 a.m.
on September 29, 2024.
The case was heard at Lincoln Crown Court, where Scott denied the charges throughout a five-day trial.
The prosecution presented DNA evidence recovered from the girl’s clothing, suggesting a possible link to Scott.
However, Scott maintained that the DNA could have been transferred through innocent activities, such as playing thumb wars or using his vape.
CCTV footage was examined by the court, and a prosecution witness described the girl as credible, while the defence highlighted inconsistencies in her testimony.
Initially, Scott was scheduled to stand trial in July 2025 after denying the charges of rape and assault by penetration, with the case postponed for a trial set to begin on July 6, 2025.
He was released on bail under conditions that included not entering a designated area of Weston and residing at two addresses—one in North End, Swineshead, and another at Dozens Bank, West Pinchbeck.
He was also permitted to travel to Mexico for a family holiday in January 2026.
However, in July 2026, the jury reached a verdict of not guilty on both charges, and Scott was formally cleared of all allegations.
The court’s decision marked the end of the case, with Scott no longer facing any charges related to the incident.
