MAN MADE EX-PARTNER QUESTION HER SANITY THROUGH TWISTED DOMESTIC ABUSE
Shaun Cooke, of no fixed address, used twisted games and gaslighting to abuse his ex-partner, leading her to question her own sanity. He played a game called chopsaw, where he would randomly hit his victim in the throat, and would attempt to convince her she was mentally ill by hiding her belongings and returning them to places she had already looked.
Cooke also repeatedly accused her of having affairs while he was in the house.
He was arrested following a domestic disturbance in Mansfield on Saturday, May 23, and later charged with coercive and controlling behaviour.
Cooke pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years' imprisonment at Nottingham Crown Court on September 23.
