SCOTT FERGUSON FROM STOCKTON JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN TEESSIDE AND NOW LIVING IN MIDDLESBROUGH
In a significant legal case that has drawn considerable attention in the Teesside area, Scott Ferguson, a resident of Stockton, was convicted of multiple serious charges related to sexual assault.The proceedings took place at Teesside Crown Court, where Ferguson faced a four-day trial that culminated in a jury verdict on January 22.
Ferguson, aged 21 at the time, was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault.
These charges stemmed from incidents that occurred in Stockton, a town known for its close-knit community and, unfortunately, its share of criminal cases.
The court heard evidence over the course of the trial, which ultimately led to Ferguson's conviction.
During the trial, Ferguson also faced a charge of attempted rape.
However, after careful deliberation, the jury acquitted him of this particular offence, allowing him to avoid a conviction on that count.
Despite this, the jury's decision confirmed his guilt on the three sexual assault charges.
Following the jury's verdict, the presiding judge, Recorder Andrew Stubbs QC, proceeded directly to sentencing Ferguson.
The court was informed that Ferguson had denied all the charges brought against him, maintaining his innocence throughout the proceedings.
His defense argued for leniency, but the court ultimately sentenced him to seven years in prison.
It was noted that Ferguson, who was previously residing on Bath Lane in Stockton, had been released from custody and was now living in the Linthorpe area of Middlesbrough.
