STOCKTON PREDATOR JAILED AFTER ATTEMPTING TO WATCH LIVE STREAM OF CHILD BEING RAPED
A vile 65-year-old pervert attempted to watch a live stream of a child being raped.John McAdams had no idea he was talking to an undercover police officer when he shared his sick fantasies and plans to watch a livestream of a young girl being raped.
Teesside Crown Court heard that the online chat came about after the undercover cop told McAdams "he had access to his granddaughter," who was fictional.
On Monday, McAdams, of Stockton, appeared in court on a video link from Holme House Prison.
The court heard that McAdams immediately said he would like to perform a sex act on the child during the online exchange.
"He asked to arrange a live stream so he could watch the "grandad" or undercover officer have sex with the girl," said prosecutor Tabitha Buck.
On September 19, he continued the conversation saying he "liked the children to be young, but he liked them to know what was happening." The prosecutor added: "He said that as he's getting older, the children he is attracted to are getting younger." When the undercover officer offered McAdams a chance to chat with his fictional granddaughter, the court heard that McAdams asked her "if she likes big w******." The court heard that McAdams continued the "almost daily" conversation for three weeks last year, until he was arrested after trying to arrange the livestream on October 9.
When police searched his home, on Rollesby Way, they took away an online device to be examined.
McAdams had been downloading indecent images and videos of children and sharing the illegal content with others.
He had also downloaded photos showing animals being sexually abused.
McAdams pleaded guilty to eight child sex offences at an earlier hearing.
He admitted arranging the commission of the rape of a child; attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child; three counts of making indecent photos of a child; two counts of distributing the photos; and possessing extreme pornographic images.
The court heard that McAdams admitted everything he had said and done and that he has since sought help for his attraction to children, from providers who work with inmates in prison.
McAdams was jailed for six years.
He was made the subject of a 15-year sexual harm prevention order and will sign the sex offenders' register for the rest of his life.
Speaking after sentencing, Detective Constable Grace Wass said: “McAdams pleaded guilty to his vile actions thanks to the hard work of officers whose tireless efforts to build a strong evidence case file have paid off.
