MICHAEL KINFE TEWELDE
Michael Kinfe Tewelde was responsible for an offence committed near the Maze Park Nature Reserve in Middlesbrough on April 29 of last year.
During the trial, the jury learned that the victim encountered Tewelde while heading home along the River Tees.
According to the prosecution, the victim passed Tewelde, who was from Leeds Street in Stockton, and offered him a cannabis joint.
Prosecutor Jonathan Walker explained that Tewelde then made a sexual gesture, which the victim refused.
Tewelde responded by pushing the man down and assaulting him before departing.
The victim used a small towel to clean himself, which police later collected as DNA evidence.
Tewelde, age 36, received a prison sentence of 10 years, with eight years in custody and two years on license afterward.
