RYAN EVANS IN MACCLESFIELD JAILED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AND DRUGS
In July 2017, Ryan Anthony Evans was revealed to be both a sex offender and a drug dealer after police executed a search warrant at his residence on Brown Street, Macclesfield, over allegations involving indecent images of children.During the raid, officers confiscated amphetamine and cannabis valued at up to £2,770, along with text messages indicating he was involved in drug trafficking.
Additionally, police discovered 123 indecent images of children, of which 27 were classified as Category A—the most severe.
Evans later received a 17-month prison sentence.
At Warrington Crown Court, the court heard Evans claimed he began dealing drugs to settle a drug debt.
He explained that he had been 'getting off his head' and, while browsing, unintentionally viewed websites containing indecent images of children—accessed through adult pornography links.
However, the court's recorder, Mark Ford, remarked that Evans had actively searched for indecent images on the internet.
Prosecutor Nicholas Williams stated: “Police searched the defendant’s home and seized a tablet and two mobile phones.
When investigating, officers found that Evans had been searching for websites related to indecent images of children using private browsing modes.
Attempts to extract data from his devices caused them to reboot, losing all evidence.
Nevertheless, mobile phone examinations revealed evidence of creating and possessing indecent images, mainly of females aged eight to fifteen, with Category A photos deemed particularly extreme.
During the search, officers also uncovered a significant quantity of controlled drugs.
Evans pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including making and possessing indecent images and possessing extreme pornography, covering the period from January 1, 2012, to August 10, 2016.
He also admitted intent to supply cannabis and amphetamines, as well as possession of MDMA.
