A former YorkshireLive journalist has appeared in court and admitted to five harassment charges.
Robert Sutcliffe, aged 58, was charged with harassment without violence, under sections 2(1) and (2) of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
He appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, pleaded guilty, and was released on bail.
He is due to return in February 2024 at Kirklees Magistrates' Court for sentencing.
The allegations involve four victims in total; the first charge was for sending unwanted messages and posting on social media, which caused the victim to feel harassed, alarmed, and distressed.
The second charge related to social media posts directed at the same person.
The third and fourth charges involved text messages, with the fifth concerning social media posts, all of which caused emotional suffering.
The court ordered Sutcliffe to be on bail with the condition that he does not contact any of the victims or engage in social media posts about them.
Sentencing is scheduled for February 7, and reports from the Probation Service will be prepared prior to that date.
