KIRKLEES MAN JAILED FOR STALKING AND COERCIVE BEHAVIOUR
Idelsen Kerr, aged 20 and from Huddersfield, received a sentence of 32 months in a young offenders' institution after being convicted of stalking that caused his victim to fear violence, as determined by Leeds Crown Court on Thursday (May 14).
Additionally, he was sentenced to a concurrent 12-month prison term for engaging in coercive and controlling behavior.
Kerr engaged in coercive and controlling actions targeting his victim from September 2024 to September 2025, and he also stalked her during the year 2025.
An indefinite restraining order has been imposed against him, prohibiting any contact and authorizing arrest if he attempts to communicate with her following his release.
DC Oldham from the Kirklees Adult Safeguarding Unit, who led the investigation, stated: "We welcome the sentencing of Kerr for what was truly horrible offending which left his victim in fear of her life."
