Hussain, a resident of Huddersfield, was given a 13-year prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of rape following a trial held in February of this year.
The crimes took place between 2004 and 2005, involving a girl who was 16 years old at the time when the abuse started.
The victim, who was assaulted by Sarfraz Riaz and Javaid Hussain, stated that the trauma has resulted in lifelong post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
She expressed: “Every day, I am caught in a cycle of powerful emotions—anger, shame, and a profound feeling of humiliation.
I frequently experience a sense of worthlessness, which makes it hard to face the outside world.
There is always a persistent fear and disbelief that this is my reality.” She added that being held accountable in court is important, but the loss of her 'true self' feels like a living sentence she endures daily for her family’s sake.
“I have carried the burden of self-blame throughout my entire life for what you have done to me.
You stole the innocence of my childhood.”
