HUDDERSFIELD MAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man from Huddersfield has been sentenced to prison after committing a sexual assault against a young girl.Duncan Macintosh, aged 64 and residing in Brackenhall, received his sentence at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, June 26, for several child sex offenses.
He was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment for eight counts of touching a young girl under the age of 13, and four counts of sexual assault by penetration involving a girl under 13.
In addition, Macintosh was issued an indefinite restraining order and a 15-year sexual harm prevention order.
His crimes occurred between July and August of last year.
The victim’s family first reported the incident to police on the evening of August 31 after the young girl confided in them about what had happened.
Macintosh was detained the following day, charged, and appeared in court on September 2.
DC Leia Houtekamer from the Kirklees Safeguarding Child Protection Team stated, “We welcome the sentencing of Macintosh today for truly terrible sexual offenses against a very young victim.
I also want to praise the courage of the girl and her family for coming forward and supporting our efforts to bring this despicable man to justice.”
