A man has been incarcerated after leaving abusive and threatening voicemails for his victim.
Robert Davies, 54 years old from Merthyr Tydfil, was sentenced to twelve months in prison after admitting guilt.
The sentencing occurred on May 13 at Cardiff Crown Court, where Davies pleaded guilty to harassment causing fear of violence, as well as criminal damage.
The victim reported to police that she had been receiving persistent calls from a withheld number, which included leaving 11 voicemails.
Some of these contained threats to kill her by stabbing and statements that she needed witness protection to escape him.
She identified Davies as the sender of the messages.
Despite bail conditions forbidding contact, Davies continued to make these calls.
Additionally, he caused damage to his cell while in detention.
