STALKER WHO REPEATEDLY MESSAGED AND HARASSED WOMAN FOR SIX YEARS JAILED
2026-02-17 13:53: A man convicted of stalking a woman he had previously assaulted sexually has been sentenced to eight years in prison.Michael Davies, aged 60 and residing in Merthyr Tydfil, received an extended sentence totaling eight years and four months after appearing before Merthyr Crown Court on Friday, January 9.
He was also placed under a lifelong restraining order and an indefinite sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).
Davies pleaded guilty to charges of stalking that involved intimidating the victim with threats of violence.
Over a period of six years, he sent threatening messages through social media channels, using a female alias.
His messages included threats to undress her and to strike her with a cane.
Eventually, Davies disclosed his identity as the man who had previously carried out a sexual assault on her.
After the victim reported the incidents to police, authorities quickly tracked down Davies.
When officers visited his home, they found him logged into the fake account he used online to threaten her, and he was caught in the act.

Over the course of six years Davies sent the victim sinister messages on social media under a woman's name, including him threatening to strip her naked and hit her with a cane.
He later revealed his identity as the person who had sexually assaulted her years previously.
Following her report to the police, Davies was swiftly located and while attending his address, officers caught him in the act of being logged in to the pseudo account he was using online to threaten the victim.
