SICK PAEDOPHILE FILMED HIMSELF ATTACKING 10-YEAR-OLD
A man from Merthyr Tydfil named Michael James, aged 66, engaged in sexual offenses against young boys during the 1990s and 2000s, including filming himself abusing a 10-year-old.He also issued threats to prevent victims from disclosing the abuse, such as threatening to kill a 15-year-old if he spoke out.
Court proceedings revealed that one victim, around 10 years old, was attacked after initially engaging in what appeared to be a playful wrestling game.
James groped the boy’s thighs and private areas, forcing the boy to flee when he sensed something was wrong.
Weeks later, James forcibly held the boy, pulled down his trousers, restrained him with his hand over the mouth, and raped him, causing bleeding and pain.
James showed the boy a camera and warned him that he had recorded the incident, threatening that disclosure would lead to shame and social rejection.
In another incident, James groomed a different boy with alcohol and cigarettes before assaulting him.
He also attempted to manipulate the boy into kissing him, eventually leading to a rape where he grabbed the boy’s wrist and throat, and ignored the boy’s pleas to stop.
The boy later told police about James’ threats of violence if he reported the abuse, and he only came forward years later.
His emotional aftermath included feelings of shame, difficulty trusting others, and struggles with romantic relationships.
James, formerly of Galon Uchaf, pleaded guilty to charges including rape, buggery, and indecent assault.
Currently detained on the Isle of Wight, he is serving a 14-year sentence imposed in 2021 for sexual offenses involving a third boy.
His legal representative presented arguments regarding his poor health, including diabetes, heart, and hip issues, and claimed that his age and medical conditions would prevent any future contact with children.
The sentencing judge, Recorder Greg Bull KC, characterized James as a dangerous individual with no remorse during previous trials.
He sentenced James to an extended prison term of six years, with an additional four years on license, which will be served after the initial sentence.
James will remain on the sex offenders register indefinitely, and at least two-thirds of the extended sentence must be served before consideration for parole.
