BLACKBURN MAN THREATENS EX-GIRLFRIEND'S NEW PARTNER AFTER FACEBOOK DISCOVERY
A 40-year-old man, Robert Anthony Early, went to his ex-partner's residence after learning through Facebook that she was involved in a new relationship.Blackburn magistrates heard Early state to police that he intended to break the other man's legs.
Early, residing on Snape Street in Darwen, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour in Higher Perry Street.
He was fined £120 along with £85 in costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Prosecutor Catherine Allan reported that when police arrived, Early was outside an address on Higher Perry Street shouting at the occupants.
When questioned, Early identified himself as 'Mr Bean' and threatened to harm the new partner, stating he was going to break his legs.
He further explained that his upset was due to his ex-girlfriend having reconciled with her former partner, which he discovered on Facebook.
Defense attorney Damian Pickup noted that Early had been in a relationship with his ex for four years, but she had initiated their breakup.
Early was said to have become extremely angry upon seeing her new relationship online.
It was also stated that Early had now moved on and accepted the end of their relationship.
