DARWEN MAN THREATENED EX WITH VIOLENCE AND ATTEMPTED TO STRANGLE HER IN DOMESTIC INCIDENT
A man named Peter Fairlie, aged 31, arrived unannounced at his former partner's residence in Darwen on September 16.
During the incident, Fairlie threatened the victim, stating he would 'get smackheads to rape her' and that he would take the child away.
He then left but returned moments later, pushing the victim to the ground and attempting to strangle her, though she managed to prevent him.
Fairlie also expressed hatred towards her, saying, 'I hate you.
You brought a child into this world who is not even wanted.' The victim reported the incident to the police, after which Fairlie handed himself in.
He admitted to pushing her but denied causing any injuries.
The court sentenced him to a community order, 20 rehabilitation days, 60 hours of unpaid work, and ordered him to pay £500 in compensation, with a restraining order in place for five years.
