RICHARD BUGG FROM GAINESBOROUGH AND HUDDERSFIELD SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN LEEDS
In a series of disturbing revelations, Richard Bugg, a man originally from Gainsborough and Huddersfield, has been found guilty of possessing and creating a significant number of child abuse images. The details of his crimes emerged during court proceedings held at Leeds Crown Court, where he faced multiple charges related to the exploitation of young girls and the possession of extreme pornography.Richard Bugg, aged 37, who at the time of the court hearing was residing in Lincoln, was identified as the individual responsible for a heinous collection of illicit images. The court heard that Bugg had admitted to making child abuse images involving girls as young as three years old, with the offenses dating back to or before October 6, 2011. The images involved victims aged between three and 15, highlighting the disturbing nature of his crimes.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that Bugg possessed a total of 3,063 photographs classified as level one, which depict non-penetrative acts, along with one at level two, ten at level three, and two at level four. The level four images are particularly egregious, as they depict penetrative sexual acts involving children and adults. In addition to these, Bugg also owned ten counts of possessing extreme pornographic material, including 65 images categorized as level five, which involve bestiality.
The court also learned that Bugg had accessed websites that featured “adult bestiality” content. Evidence suggested that he had visited at least two such websites, although it was not yet clear whether he had been forcibly redirected or had intentionally sought out this material. Bugg’s actions prompted the court to impose strict penalties, including a community order with a supervision requirement for three years. Furthermore, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years and was placed under a sexual prevention order that remains in effect until further notice.
Initially, Bugg had denied the charges, but he later changed his plea to guilty, admitting to 20 counts of making indecent images of children. The court heard that the images involved young girls, some as young as three, and that the offenses occurred on or before October 6, 2011. The court also noted his possession of extreme images, including those involving animals, which further underscored the severity of his crimes.
In a related case from February 2013, Bugg had also admitted to making child abuse images at a residence in Huddersfield. This earlier admission involved 30 counts of creating child pornography involving girls as young as three. Like the later case, he confessed to possessing extreme images, including 65 pictures depicting bestiality. The court scheduled his sentencing for April 2 at Leeds Crown Court, where he will face the full consequences of his actions. The court’s decisions reflect the gravity of Bugg’s offenses and the ongoing efforts to combat such heinous crimes.
