SOLIHULL CURRY HOUSE BOSS JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT
A restaurant owner accused of sexually harassing young job seekers has received a prison sentence for his misconduct.Prashant Sengar, operating from Solihull, was found to have committed multiple sexual assault acts against terrified young women applying for work at his eatery, Spicy Affair.
The “arrogant” defendant denied all allegations, asserting that the six women lied, and remained stoic as a judge sentenced him to 22 months in prison.
Prosecutor Lee Marklew described Sengar as a man known for having wandering hands who abused his position of power, stating: “Prashant Sengar is a man with wandering hands.
He exploited his authority with these women.” The court heard that police questioned Sengar twice during their initial investigations but did not pursue charges.
The evidence revealed he first groped an employee by slapping her bottom as she started working at Spicy Affair in Leamington Spa.
He then attempted to kiss her from behind, and when she rejected his advances but he continued, claiming he wouldn’t go “anywhere between your legs.” She subsequently left her job and made a police report following his second attempt to kiss her.
Sengar was questioned but not charged at this stage, and he next targeted two other women he interviewed for jobs.
During these interviews, he touched one woman’s knee and inquired if she would like to be a model for him, while he also touched the thigh of another woman and made an attempt to kiss her.
Both women reported his inappropriate conduct, leading to his re-arrest.
Although police connected him to the first woman’s case, no further action was taken initially.
The victims described feeling scared, shocked, and disgusted by what had happened — with one woman saying she was afraid to pursue further restaurant employment, and another stating she would avoid Bollywood auditions.
Sengar’s wrongdoings were finally uncovered after police intervened for a third time, finding documents at his restaurant that linked him to additional victims.
Details from the court established that his inappropriate behavior had a lasting impact, leaving the women traumatized.
