WOMAN IN HUDDERSFIELD COMMITS VIOLENT STABBING, GETS INDEFINITE HOSPITAL ORDER
Lumb, of Brownroyd Avenue, Rawthorpe, Huddersfield, was arrested later and officers described her ramblings as “irrational”.
She pleaded guilty to allegations of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault in relation to the two attacks.
The court heard how she confronted a woman in a Huddersfield street months before the main incident, demanding to know where her cat was, and when the victim didn't know, Lumb punched the woman and pulled her hair.
On the day of the attack, she sat on Mr Ayrton’s knees and then stabbed him in the back of the right shoulder after he was in his home.
She was described as suffering from paranoid schizophrenia and other mental health problems.
The judge made her the subject of an indefinite hospital order under the Mental Health Act, stating she posed an extreme danger to the public.
This case was a result of her mental illness, and the victim survived and responded to treatment.
