PETER NESBITT BANGOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES PERVERT SENTENCED TO SIX MONTHS IN PRISON
In September 2014, a disturbing case involving a Bangor resident came to light at Downpatrick Crown Court, where Peter Nesbitt, a 39-year-old computer consultant, was sentenced to six months in jail after being found in possession of nearly 11,500 images depicting the sexual abuse of children.Judge Piers Grant expressed his strong disapproval of Nesbitt's actions, highlighting the disturbing nature of his views regarding the sexualisation of minors.
The court proceedings revealed that Nesbitt had downloaded a total of 11,337 images, which he viewed for his own sexual gratification.
The judge emphasized that such actions contribute directly to the ongoing exploitation and abuse of vulnerable children, perpetuating a cycle of harm.
As part of his sentencing, Nesbitt was ordered to remain on licence for an additional two years, ensuring close monitoring of his activities post-release.

In addition to these restrictions, Judge Grant imposed a five-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).
